Week 5: T.S. Elliot

My colleague and I knew we would be interesting in engaging with poetry pieces for the encoding challenge. We decided upon T.S.Elliot's work. We also looked at graphic poems and the creative challenge therein with respect to encoding. We also looked at some poems as a part of certain novels.

When it comes to our decided upon piece, we really found the marginalia and metric mark up fascinating. We were so close to eliminating the mini dialogue in Italian only to find out this was a classic signature piece of Elliot's style. We also wanted to ensure that the encoding captured the poetic measure and we also decided upon removing physical page constraint and encoding the poem as a whole entity instead.
